Suzuka - Sound of Engine 2017
SUZUKA, JAPAN
An incredibly exciting weekend at Suzuka, Sound of Engine 2017. An invitation only event, demonstrating a collection of 13 Masters Historic Formula One Cars.
Having sent the Tyrrell 012-01 at the end of September by shipping freight to Japan, it wouldn't be until Wednesday 15th November, till we would see the car again. Arriving all safe and sound, car and team, the Wednesday and Thursday where allocated as set up days for all teams.
Friday the Tyrrell had one 20 minute session on the shorter circuit, to ensure everything was running properly and to give Ian a chance to learn part of Suzuka circuit.
Saturday was wet all day, and the first day Ian would be out on the full Suzuka GP Circuit, 3x 20 minute sessions through out the day. Followed by an interesting meal at a local Japanese restaurant for all teams and drivers in the Masters Historic F1 demonstartion (all sitting on the floor!).
Sunday included one 20 minute session in the morning and a Demo-Race just after lunch, where Ian Simmonds - Tyrrell 012-01 finished 8th / 16 with a best time of 2:08.842.
An amazing opportunity and exciting weekend at Suzuka, Japan, learning about the different culture and experiencing such fantastic and polite people.
